[dt. »Codewandlungs-Software«], Software, die komplexe Prozessorbefehle in einfache Einzelbefehle (so genannte Atome) zerlegt. Diese Atome lassen sich zu Gruppen, die Moleküle genannt werden, kombinieren. Mithilfe derartiger Molekülkombinationen kann die Code Morphing Software die Befehlssätze verschiedener Prozessoren nachbilden.
 
Die Code Morphing Software wird derzeit nur von den Crusoe-Prozessoren genutzt, also von VLIW-Prozessoren, die aktuell vor allem den Befehlssatz von Intel-Prozessoren nachbilden.
 
Die Code Morphing Software ist wesentlich umfangreicher als normaler Microcode; sie umfasst ca. 2 MByte statt üblicherweise etwa ca. 2 KByte. Der große Umfang geht auch darauf zurück, dass sie Funktionen enthält, die ihre eigene Arbeitsweise optimieren.
